Privacy notice
Last updated 21 October 2026. This is the whole notice, in plain words.
What we collect
- Your email address, to sign you in with a link. There are no passwords.
- The reels you paste or upload, only long enough to measure them. See below.
- The measurements of each reel: tempo, key, voice pace, cuts a minute, brightness and similar numbers, the song title and artist if we recognise it, and the reel type.
- Your likes and dislikes, your spaces, each space's taste, your recipes and the scripts you paste.
- The reels we make for you: the script, the caption, the song suggestion and the video file.
- Your API keys, if you connect them: Claude, ElevenLabs and optionally Pexels.
What happens to a video you send
An uploaded file or a pasted link is downloaded for the measurement and deleted straight after, normally within minutes. If the measurement fails, the file is deleted too. We do not keep, share or publish it, and we do not use it to train models.
Your voiceover and your made reels
A voiceover you upload for a reel is deleted as soon as the reel is made. The reel we make for you is kept so you can watch and download it, until you delete it (and at most 30 days).
Your keys
Keys are encrypted before they are stored, shown back to you only as "connected" with the last four characters, never written to logs, and handed to our worker only for a job of yours that needs them. They are used only to make your reels, on your own accounts at those providers. Remove a key in Settings and it is deleted. Deleting your account deletes them too.
The Instagram bot
You can link Instagram so that reels you send to @steal.auteurhq are saved to your account. The bot is automated. When you message it, Meta gives us a numeric id for your Instagram account and the text and the shared reels in your message. After you link, we store that id, your Instagram username (to show it in Settings) and the space the reels go to. The bot replies to you in the same chat. A shared reel is handled like any other reel you send: measured, then the video is deleted. Say unlink to the bot or press Unlink in Settings and the link is removed; reels already saved stay until you delete them. Deleting your account removes the link too.
Song recognition
To name the song in a reel, we send a few short clips of the music track (with the voice removed where possible) to a song recognition service. We keep only the title and artist that come back, and the clips are deleted straight away.
Who helps us run it
- Cloudflare hosts the site and stores the database and the temporary files.
- Meta (Instagram) delivers your messages to the bot and carries its replies, if you use the bot.
- Resend sends the sign-in email.
- Claude, ElevenLabs and Pexels receive your script or topic when you use your own keys to make a reel, under your own agreement with them.

Your control
Delete a reel, a made reel, a space or a key in the app. Delete your account in Settings and everything we hold about you is deleted. To ask for a copy of your data, write to hello@auteurhq.com.
